As I lay in the Emergency Department during a recent hospital adventure, a doctor's scribe was passing by. He stopped and ducked into another room, emerging with a pillow that he placed under my head. His job doesn't directly involve patient contact and he certainly didn't have to do this. It was most definitely a kind thing to do! He said he thought I looked uncomfortable. Indeed.
