just out of curiosity

Happy Saturday everyone!  Just out of curiosity I was wondering if you are a regular reader or if today perhaps is your first time reading what I have to say here.  I'd love your comments.  Do feel free to make any suggestions too.  Kindness is important and I am not the expert.  I'm sure we all have ideas about how to make the world a kinder place.

remembering that turkey jook

How many of you have had turkey jook (some people call it congee or rice porridge)?  One of my favorite memories of kindness is when I was given a nice big bowl or a few days after Thanksgiving. It was so delicious and I can still remember how good it made me feel.

random acts

I love thinking of those random acts of kindness that really make a difference. Here are some more. Buy books for a day care center or school or donate some from your own library. Donate blood. Volunteer at an organization that needs help. Go through your closets and find several nice items and then donate them to a shelter. Give toys to the children at a shelter. There are so many other ideas!

Don't rush

We always seem to be in such a hurry to celebrate Christmas but end up rushing past so many other wonderful moments.  I prefer to do the traditional twelve days of Christmas beginning on December 25th, so it's WAY too early now.  Let's be kind to all the other observances along the way.

November 18th ideas

It is Tuesday, November 18, and here are a few kindness ideas. Make a point of finding the name of a supermarket or drugstore employee and then praise him/her through that company’s corporate office. Share this blog with friends.  Become active in a cause that is important to you.  When drivers try to merge into your lane, let them in with a wave and a smile.

Rainy Days and Mondays

Fifty-four years ago, Karen Carpenter was singing "What I've got they used to call the blues. Nothin' is really wrong, Feelin' like I don't belong." Ever had a day like that yourself? That popular song Rainy Days and Mondays could easily describe today, except for one thing: Nothing needs to get us down. Nothing. It's raining where I live, and it is indeed Monday, but I refuse to be depressed about anything. There are bright corners everywhere. Just look for them.

Just before he passed away back in 2017, David Cassidy said "So much wasted time." Since hearing this, I've thought about it a lot and it serves as a reminder for me to cherish every moment. ("Cherish" of course was a Cassidy hit song). I don't want to waste a single moment. I want to always share my gratitude and share kindness to all.
