They called him "The King," and folks are saying of golfer Arnold Palmer that he "lifted the game to another level." Loaded with charisma and a commoner’s touch, he was a genuine nice guy. I started hearing people praise him earlier this week, just after hearing news of his death. One of the things everyone is saying is that he was a kind man. He was one of the first sports figures to endorse products and even ended up having a product named after him (a mix of lemonade and iced tea). He was so down to earth, he didn't really like being called "The King," and said once in an interview "I don’t bask in it. I don’t relish it. I tried for a long time to stop that and there was no point." Being remembered as nice and kind, is a great legacy indeed!

"War broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back, but they were defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." -from the twelfth chapter of the Revelation to Saint John

A month ago on my birthday, I began thinking of a different kind of blog. (I've been writing another one about giving back to society and making a difference in the world, but I was thinking of more specific kind acts). Of being kind, I have a few things to say. Sometimes here I might share inspirational quotes and at other times I'll put forth ideas about kindness and how together we just might brighten up the world. Hopefully this will help to brighten up things for YOU. Do feel free to share these posts and your comments below are always welcome as well. Of being kind, there are so many ways! Let's use them all up!
